Symptoms of asthma include; coughing, chest tightness, shortness of breath, wheezing
and may also produce extra mucus, making it more difficult to breathe. For many,
symptoms of asthma are minor, while for others asthma could be life-threatening.
Most cases of asthma can be managed with rescue inhalers, like
albuterol, and controlled with steroids. Achieving control for severe cases may
require longer-acting treatments, like formoterol, salmeteroland, or tiotropium
inhalers, and oral steroids.
