Allergies

Allergic rhinitis (AR)/Allergies/Hay fever – Some allergic reactions include only mild symptoms, such as; sneezing,  itchy eyes, itchy nose, itchy throat, red eyes, running nose, or cold symptoms and may be only seasonal. Others allergic reactions include more severe symptoms, such as; respiratory issues, ability to function and lack of concentration. In many cases treatment options can help patients live fully by controlling and possibly curing their allergies.

Asthma

A condition that inflames, narrows and swells a person’s airway. Symptoms of asthma include; coughing, chest tightness, shortness of breath, wheezing and may also produce extra mucus, making it more difficult to breathe. For many, symptoms of asthma are minor, while for others asthma could be life-threatening.

Most cases of asthma can be managed with rescue inhalers, like albuterol, and controlled with steroids. Achieving control for severe cases may require longer-acting treatments, like formoterol, salmeteroland, or tiotropium inhalers, and oral steroids.

Eczema

Atopic Dermatitis (AD) – Intense itchy rash associated with dry and cracking skin. Typically, the rash appears on the arms but for many sufferers AD can appear almost anywhere.

Allergic disease ranks higher than cancer, diabetes and heart disease as a chronic disease

According to the World Allergy Organization, allergies are reaching epidemic proportions. The WAO also states allergies are a primary care problem and testing and treatment should be a central component for medical centers.

Less than 1% of Americans with Respiratory Allergic Disease are being properly diagnosed and treated
